"I've got it!" D2 exclaimed the other day.
"I know how it works!" she continued.
"You know how most days I can't wake up until 7:29?"
"Well," she continued not waiting for my reponse, "I think Santa uses his magic."
"And
that is how I wake up so early on Christmas morning."
I'm glad D2 can still hear the ringing of the Polar Express jingle bell. The sound has all but faded completely for Julianna. Julianna was recently recommended by her teacher for a challenge program offered through the school district for gifted students. She rated exceptionally high in every subject and character quality. However there was one obvious dip in her evaluation where she was only above average-- her imagination! Sometimes I wonder how she is possibly my child.
ReplyDeletemom- how rude. the sounds have not faded at all for me. how rude...-again. and i thought imagination was a good thing! guess not.
ReplyDeleteMichelle and Julianna,
ReplyDeleteI think you both can still hear the ringing of the Polar Express Jingle Bell.
You miss understood me about your imagination, Julianna. Imagination is a great thing. When I was your age the only thing I had going for myself was my imagination. I wasn't nearly as smart as you in Math and Science and everything else. But my imagination was exceptional. You're very much like your Dad was as a kid- smart in all of his subjects at school. But you are more imaginative and creative than he was, you get that from me.
ReplyDeleteSo he uses it every morning except christmas morning. Ok yeah I can see that, he would be quite busy wouldnt he...
ReplyDeleteIt's as good an explanation as any.
ReplyDeleteI don't know; it makes perfect sense to me :-)
ReplyDeletePope Terry,
ReplyDeleteYou are a thorough thinker I can tell!
Bart,
ReplyDeleteI suppose it is.
Suldog,
ReplyDeleteSanta... magic... Perfect sense... Are you sure?
That is a sweet story and an even sweeter picture.
